My Most Profitable Articles on Medium

I published my first story here on Medium in May 2019. Since then, I have posted over 100 stories. However, only a handful of my stories have actually made any money.

As a historian, I love to write about history, and all of my first 20 articles, were ones that I copied and pasted from my blog. Unfortunately, none of them made a single cent. The only article that made me a small amount from my blog was one that I wrote about an abandoned motel in Baker, California.

If I am honest, I started posting on Medium to make a little money, and whilst it was not costing me anything to copy over my blog posts, I thought that I would try and write about something else that interested me, other than history.

One of the first articles that made me a little money was one about OnlyFans. After that, I wrote about all sorts of different topics, from fast fashion to homelessness to side hustles. I found that most of my non-history related articles, all made me a little money. However, the most money that I make here on medium comes from writing about true crime.

I have to admit that I am a bit of an armchair detective, and I was watching a video online about a beautiful mid-century modern home in Palm Springs, where a triple homicide had taken place in the 1970s. After reading a few articles online about the case, I…
