How Much Money I Make From Selling My Photographs on RedBubble
I made my first sale on Red Bubble back in 2017. I received £2.06 in commission for a throw pillow with one of my photographs on it. My next two commissions, also in 2017, were for £5.71 for a canvas and £4.08 for an iPhone case. Since then, I have received steady commissions ranging from 0.10p to £7, with usually 5 or so sales per month.
Since joining in 2017, I have sold 136 products and I have 379 designs on sale. So what is Red Bubble? The site was created in Melbourne, Australia, back in 2006. It was set up for creators to easily sell their works. Today, the site has over 700,000 people contributing worldwide. Red Bubble enables photographers, artists and graphic designers to upload their work and sell it on things like stickers, bags, shirts, pillows, masks, etc. All the creator does it upload, title and keyword their works, then Red Bubble does the rest.
Creators can upload as many pictures as they like and it is the creators choice what products they want their designs to feature on. The site is completely free for creators, it only costs them their time.
The creator then sets the commission that they want to receive on each item. The % of commission is added onto the price of the item. The lowest mark-up is 5%. Most of my mark-ups are set st 5%. However, for cheaper items like…
